Dr. Fern White (Principal Dentist)
B.D.Sc. Hons (Melb) FICCDE
Fern graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne. She has worked in numerous private practices on the Mornington Peninsula, Brunswick, St.Vincents Hospital and St Kilda Rd Melbourne prior to joining BeaconCove Dental Group in 2009. She now leads the team as the Principal Dentist.
Fern enjoys the variety in general dentistry and embraces new advancements. Her particular interests in general dentistry are reconstructive dentistry and she believes strongly in Biomimetic Dentistry – that which closely mimics natural tooth structure and is conservative. Therefore, her philosophy is to always preserve good tooth structure, avoiding the removal of teeth where possible and appropriate.
Having additionally completed an international diploma, Fern integrates her philosophy into her practice of orthodontics (tooth straightening) where she helps all patients from young children to mature-aged adults obtain beautiful, harmonised smiles. She is always undergoing continuous studies to further enhance her knowledge in orthodontics and general dentistry. She loves to be at the forefront of dentistry, finding new ways to create great smiles and healthy teeth.
In 2006, Fern also volunteered as a dentist in Vietnam as part of the Rotary Australia-Vietnam Dental Health Project – to provide primary and emergency dental care to children in Vietnam. In 2009, she participated in a dental outreach program in Cairns, working alongside the indigenous community. She endeavours to continue taking part in volunteer health programs, where satisfaction is gained through ensuring that a wide range of people get to experience the rewards of quality dentistry.
Fern has travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and South America and her fluency in English, French and Vietnamese has greatly enlightened her travels. To maintain health and wellbeing Fern enjoys cycling, squash and jazz. Apart from dentistry, Ferns other main passion is yoga which she has practised and studied for more than 8 years. In particular, Anusara yoga has become her main focus due to the beauty and principles in its teachings. Anusara means ‘flowing with grace’ and she aims to continually integrate these philosophies into her daily interactions with patients and life in general.
Dr. Kim Trinh
